«Les métamorphoses du jour » Tarot has original artwork based on drawings by French artist, J. J. Grandville. The droll, сomical, detailed cards are based on the Rider-Waite pattern and feature fantastical human-like animals. Today, there are several tarot decks based on the illustrations of this famous artist, but despite this, each compiler of these decks sees his own, different from the others in the characters of J.J. Grandville.
These drawings are remarkable for the extraordinary skill with which human characteristics are represented in animal facial features. Though the designs of Grandville are occasionally unnatural and absurd, they usually display keen analysis of character and marvellous inventive ingenuity, and his humour is always tempered and refined by the delicacy of sentiment and a vein of sober thoughtfulness. All characters in this deck are animals. But it is so surprising that in sheep, birds, and crocodiles we recognize familiar people. Cards are unusually characteristic; they outline the types of human personalities, life stories, and scenarios of relationships.
The use of this deck is multifaceted. With its help, you can look at the situation as if from the outside and see it without embellishment. The deck arrived in great condition despite being inspected and repackaged by customs. The card stock is smooth and sturdy. The images just make me smile.
Cards are very beautiful, there are so impressive, they are big but not uncomfortable, they are easy to shuffle, you can see all the details of the illustrations, they are so inspiring, and I’ve connected to them immediately. The cardstock is a real high quality one and the touch is soft. They come in a tuck box, with a separate slim guidebook. I can only recommend this deck because it’s a Must Have in your collection!!

Favorite tarot deck! I can’t say enough about the beauty and quality of this deck. I wish I had gotten two–I’m almost hesitant to use it in case it wears out (not that it isn’t sturdy–it is GREAT!)
